Striking Ghosts Ready to Take "Fir ST E.P."

STRIKING GHOSTS is the moniker for multiracial singer/songwriter Ernest Davis, Jr.'s one-man musical project.

Davis hails from Reno, Nevada.  He moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA's acting program and graduated as a Theatre Arts major.  He got married soon after, but upon his divorce seven years later, he put his film & TV career on hold to focus on music.  He started by working with children and eventually went on to become a music therapist for those with special needs.

Before STRIKING GHOSTS, Davis recorded many albums under the name Catharsis for his own enjoyment, occasionally passing out the cassettes to friends.  As STRIKING GHOSTS, his music is acoustic-centric pop music, or "mood rock," and played on acoustic guitar when performing live, but in his home studio, Zebrahaus, he adds electronic flourishes with keyboards and drum programming.

STRIKING GHOSTS' debut EP, Fir ST E.P., contains the singles "Tell Me a Lie" (with a video on YouTUbe directed by documentary filmmaker Casey Peek, owner of Progressive Films) and "I Want to Be Your Lover."  Also included is a song written by European songwriter Josette "Dreamer" Du Pre, entitled "Heaven Is You;" another STRIKING GHOSTS track, "Home;" and acoustic versions of "Tell Me a Lie" and "I Want to Be Your Lover."

Davis' influences include Depeche Mode, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Morrissey and David Sylvian, just to name a few.  He is currently preparing to play shows in support of Fir ST E.P. and working on the release of STRIKING GHOSTS' debut full-length album, Thank God for Your Mother.
